Mobile Phone Wiki
Learning is an important part of life and in order for children and even anyone to learn they need to be engaged. This means they need to be able to relate to the topic, understand how it is important to them and also it must be fun! By using a mobile phone as an ICT tool young learner’s, especially will be engaged as they all know how to use them and want to use them all the time. Mobile phones can be interactive and include many features! They have access to the internet, different applications, such as the I phone has a level tool, so instead of getting out a massive tool or needing to use multiple tools in man arts they can use their phone to see it a surface is level! How exciting to think that this technology has come this far! A mobile phone can connect everyone around the world! The mobile phone is a part of connectivism and can allow students to talk and interact with people who are not in the same room or even the same state or country!
By using a wiki to go through the six thinking hats about mobile phones as an ICT learning tool, i found wikis very easy to use and a very connectivism way of life. With a large group of people, we were all able to add to the wiki and we could be on different computers and in different places! The wiki was easy to edit and add information to! Also we could read everyone else’s ideas and perspectives! The only down fall of the wiki was if you highlighted information and then started typing, the information would disappear. This is a similar process that occurs on Microsoft word. A very common tool used by almost everyone! So by relating these to each other it can be easily learned it will disappear if the information is highlighted.
